Overfishing Food web
By
First trophic level – Seagrass
Second trophic level – Shrimp, Prawn
Third trophic level – Small fish, Sea bird, seal, fox, killer Whale
The food web above shows an average ecosystem of an overfished area before this issue is done. The food web starts with sea grass that gets its energy from the sun. Next are the prawn and shrimp who eat the sea grass as their main energy source. Then, there is the small fish who are being over fished. These fish mainly eat shrimp and prawn. Next, the sea birds and the seals, two main predators of the small fish. The seal (obviously) can swim and eat this fish but the sea birds have to work a bit harder by diving for fish in shallow water or eating dead fish that have been washed up on shore. Lastly are the top predators: killer whale and the fox. The killer wale eats the seal and the typical fox eats the sea birds.
