Overfishing: it’s in the name
Byoverfishing the problem is in the name. We are taking to much fish out of the ocean and not giving them enough time to reproduce fast enough to keep this going. Because of this we can predict disruptions in the market economy and in the ocean ecosystem, especially in cultures that have many fish based dishes such as the Japanese.
Let’s look at the pros and cons
Pros.
- It’s meeting our needs and standards
Cons.
- Less fish in the ocean can lead to a disruption in food chains and imbalance
- the price for fish will most likely go up due to there being less fish
- with all the big boats that bring in so much fish local fisherman will most likely lose there jobs
- the nets catch more than just commercial fish so other species are killed as well
