Haiti: Limiting Factors

By

Over the years Haiti has experienced many natural disasters. The water supply would be one of the main limited factors, there has been many drought conditions. The deforestation in Haiti has caused flash floods during heavy rainfalls this has led to many soil erosions. After the soil erosions happen from deforestation and there are flash floods the ground dries up very quickly, then turning into droughts. These droughts have limited the animals from water, without water the animals are at risk. They will not survive if humans continue to take the little water remaining for themselves and their crops. Animals in Haiti have been through a lot, losing their homes to deforestation from the soil erosions and the limited water available. After droughts some fields are left with some crop residue, leading to higher and increased risks of more soil erosions. The erosions decrease soil activity from degradation of soil structure and plant nutrients.
