PERIODIC TABLE CONNECTIONS INVOLVING CORAL REEFS

By

Even though the reefs are in the ocean there is still a ton of science that goes on down there. I will be expressing some periodic table connections towards the coral reefs.

The main elements that I think are connected are Oxygen and Carbon dioxide

down below are the reasons why it think they are connected

Oxygen: oxygen plays a huge role in the corals survival. The corals absorbs oxygen and releases carbon dioxide through to the outer layer of the corals. that is the process of how they breathe.

Carbon dioxide: Carbon dioxide is important for the coral so it can do its photosynthesis. after done photosynthesis, some carbon dioxide has to be released into the air so it makes carbohydrates for both the zooxanthellae and coral polyps.
