The Damage Pesticides Have Done To Aquatic Life.
ByHumans are using pesticides without acknowledging the effects it has on other ecosystems. One of those being the aquatic life. Thousands of fish were found dead on the coast of P.E.I due to chemical exposure. Heavy rain pushed the pesticides from some nearby agricultural fields, all the way to bodies of water.
Fish can be both directly and indirectly impacted by pesticide exposure. Any of the long-term exposures can cause some abnormalities or mutations in developing fish larvae, which can cause a downfall in the population. The acute exposures can cause immediate fish die-offs. All of this is proved in a 2015 study…

The fish survival rate is put at risk as they become easy targets for prey. They are becoming easy targets due to the chemical exposure causing them to adapt growth and swimming abnormalities. The fish are also put at risk of inhibition of enzyme growth and delay.
This is all the result of farmers using pesticides for agricultural purposes. They aren’t aware that pesticides travel around after being sprayed and that they negatively impact the nearby ecosystems around.
