A Canadian group that would be helpful in the Coal Mining issues in South Africa, is the Environmental Defense group. Their mission statement is- Our mission as a leading Canadian Environmental advocacy organization is to work with government, industry and individuals to defend clean water, a safe climate, and health communities. They have lots of information on their website and resources available. Their team of experts and would be able to bring the proper attention to the issue.
Another group that would be helpful fighting coal mining pollution in South Africa would be a group called Earthjustice. They are a legal group that has a focus on clean air and clean water. This group is made up of lawyers and legal experts. They are able to sue the polluters and get change done through the law. They have 14 regional offices and 160 lawyers. This group is also non profit so the lawyers don’t make any money, they do the work to help the environment.
