Solar Farms In Haldimand and Norfolk’s Open Fields.
ByTo Gordon Cameron, Editor of the Sachem,
I think solar farms should be built in the open fields of Haldimand and Norfolk because of the many benefits they have for the Bee populations, the environment, and the economy. Solar farms provide a terrific way to produce renewable energy, a great space for native flora and fauna to grow, and many job opportunities.
Pollution due to fossil fuels and other non-renewable energy sources is one of Earths biggest problems. It has cause climate change, global warming, and has damaged earths eco-system and it is time we do something. We need to work on making our local energy consumption renewable, with something like solar farms.
Solar farms are one of the best options for producing renewable energy. They offer a great alternative to greenhouse gas producers like coal, oil and natural gases. Solar farms are great because of their low maintenance cost and their energy production. The sun is going to be in the sky for another few billion years and as long as it is in the sky, we can produce renewable energy.
Solar farms can offer a sort of safe haven for native plant and animal life because more often then not, the area around solar panels are untouched by herbicides and pesticides. This can allow grasses, shrubs, and small flowers to flourish and practically become a buffet for pollinators without them coming in contact with harmful poisons. These solar farms can allow local ecosystems to restore themselves to what they once were while providing a substantial amount of renewable energy. What isn’t great about that?
Not only do these solar farms help the environment, they also good for the economy. As i said earlier, the maintenance cost for solar panels is very low and solar farms can provide many jobs for field technicians, mechanical and maintenance fitters and many more.
To conclude, I believe we should build solar farms in the open fields of Haldimand and Norfolk because of the benefits they have. They are good for the local flora and fauna, they are an amazing way of producing energy, and they are good for our economy.
