HUMAN IMPACT ON BIODVERSITY

By

Did you know? Haiti only has about 1% of its primary forest left.

Haiti has a very important and major charcoal production. In order for this to happen they need wood. From cutting down so many trees and the lack of shade there soil is drying out.

This is said to affect farmers because the soil is becoming dried out, useless and eroding. This is dangerous because 70% of Haitians rely on farming for there livelihood.

Studies show that Haiti is at risk for losing over half of its species by 2035.

Haiti is in a mass extinction. Their loss of wildlife and forestry is largely due to habitat destruction/ deforestation, but that is just one factor. Other factors include climate change, invasive species and other human activity.

Haiti is losing all of its producers which are trees bushes and grasses. These producers cant regrow due to infertile soil.

With all the producers dying with the incapability to regrow and the infertile soil Haiti will become unlivable for any organism and lose its biodiversity complete.
