Solar power should be offered cheaply in Haiti

I do think solar power should be offered cheaply in Haiti to help local residents get electricity.

Solar power is a natural and efficient way to get electricity to power many appliances and homes. The one key feature that this type of power needs is sun. This power source is easy access and is unlimited. It is very cheap to produce as it is natural.

According to the World Bank Country Director, Haiti has an abundance of untapped and unused renewable resources. However, only one in three Haitians have access to electricity. In rural areas it is very limited. With renewable energy sources being offered cheaply in can change the lifestyle of many Haitians. It will help support families, businesses and community services at a low cost.

This method is not harmful to the environment and will not destroy the life of plants and animals. Instead of their regular production to make fuel and energy, this will be less invasive and cleaner for the environment. The charcoal production currently is the cause of deforestation; They need the trees to burn. This way trees are not needed and no land will need to be uprooted as the panels can be mounted on the roof of a building.

Solar panels have already proved to successfully function. In one part of Haiti, a hospital was build with solar panels on the roof to provide electricity . In only seven months of being open it has successfully preformed surgery, attended to over 50,000 patients and delivered 800 babies. If this many lives can be changed in just seven months with the use of solar panels, imagine what the entire country could do with access to electricity.

This method of how Haitians can receive electricity can change the way one lives. It can save the lives of many including humans and wildlife. The most important thing is that it cheap to produce and should be offered cheaply to all citizens.
