Pesticides used in farming and agriculture- What are they hiding?

leaking into our lakes, oceans and rivers

The issue at hand is that pesticides used in farming are leaking into our ecosystem. The safety within the water and the organism’s living around it are in danger because of the chemicals being used. In fact, you may be to!

These videos feature the history of pesticides including examples of pests that changed history and early pest control. The video’s provide information on current practices of regulations to control pests while safeguarding the food supply, monitoring the food supply, and educating those who apply pesticides.

What are pesticides?

Pesticides are chemicals used to kill pests. There are many different type of pesticides… herbicide, insecticide, bactericide and fungicide

The ecosystem that is most affected is the species within the contaminated waters. The species in the hydrosphere are very greatly affected because of the contaminated waters. This however is not the only problem, when you dive in deeper to the effects in the food chain you will notice there are organisms everywhere being affected. Every living thing needs water to live, so every living thing in that area could be drinking the contaminated water.

The people are responsible for the contamination of water that is affecting wildlife. More specifically it is the farmers who are adding this chemical to the soils and earth which leads to the companies who are selling this chemical and making it with no thought about the greater impact.

This chemical is greatly affected with any species because it is known to be contaminated through a water source. This means that every living species that needs water, the species that live directly in the water are all taking resources from that contaminated source. This means that they are directly impacted. Therefore, it could mean a deer who drank from that river of contaminated pesticides is now a harmed organism.

People assume that if water is clear, it is safe to drink. But even though you can’t see micro plastic with the human eye it doesn’t mean that they are not harmful to anyone or anything.

Short-term effects would be that they catch the problem before anyone gets hurt. Clear out the rivers and water source of chemicals. If it’s contained in a small area and fast it could be dangerous.

If it’s never fixed it will impact species and organisms, it could mean a dangerous effect to wildlife, your family pet, or even you. What are the real harms pesticides are doing?
