Elements of the periodic table found in overfishing…

Sodium (Na or salt) is found in salt water where fish inhabit. There is around 2 tablespoons of salt in one cup of sea water. Without sodium in sea water fish would not get the nutrients they need to survive from drinking the salt water. If two much sodium is added to seawater the ratio of salt would be too great to sustain any marine life and large schools of fish.

Oxygen (O) and hydrogen (H), the two elements that make up water. Without water fish would merely shrivel up and died from lack of hydration. Too much oxygen or too much hydrogen in water would not make up sustainable water.

Chlorine (Cl) is the most found element in seawater. This element kills bacteria and germs found in the seawater. Too much chlorine not only will kill bacteria but also kill all the marine life in its surroundings.

Without the elements listed above no marine life (including the fish that are being overfished) would be able to live in the ocean from lack of nutrition, and hydration. But too much of any of these elements would not be sustainable for marine animals to live in.
